By Morgan (Philadelphia, USA)
My name is Morgan. I am 19 and I reverted to Islam four months ago. Many people have asked me why I have to cover my hair and my body. What people don’t realize is that I don’t have to; I choose to. My whole life I have struggled with my identity and wearing Hijab gives that to me. Covering gives me freedom to choose who gets to see me. It is my protection; it protects me from people with closed minds and closed hearts. I believe most importantly, my Hijab allows me to be a walking representation of Islam. I am blessed to teach others about my religion, and my wonderful way of life, everyday.
