I personally do not identify with any religion but I believe strongly that everyone should be able to express their beliefs without having to fear persecution. My best friend in the whole world is a Muslim and I have experienced the judgment and cruel words that she has received because of this. She has felt scared to express her religious beliefs with people due to this. So today I wore a hijab for her and for everyone else who faces persecution for their beliefs. Islam is a religion of peace, love, respect, and charity. If people see anything negative in it then that is an issue with them not Islam. Stay strong and stay true to who you are.

The post The atheist and the hijab appeared first on World Hijab Day.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">2447</post-id>

Modesty has been lost in the West

World Hijab Day

Blog

canada hijab

hijab

hijab supporter

hijabi

modesty west

non muslilm hijab

scarf

Why hijab

By Tara okeefe (Non-Muslim, Canada) I am wearing a hijab in support of women from all corners of the world in their freedom of choice to wear what they want. I think that any woman who wears a hijab for their own personal reasons is amazingly strong and their confidence is something to be admired.

Unfortunately modesty is something that has been lost to a lot of the west, but seeing Muslim women wearing their Hijab proudly makes one really think about their own modesty and what things we can do to be seen for more than just our bodies, or our hair or whatever physical features we are putting forward to the world.

I support all women from all walks of life in their rights and freedoms on any and all levels. I think World Hijab Day is a brilliant idea. It is a great way for fellow women to support each other regardless of your religion.

The post Modesty has been lost in the West appeared first on World Hijab Day.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">2133</post-id>
