I am 19 and I reverted to Islam four months ago. Many people have asked me why I have to cover my hair and my body. What people don&#8217;t realize is that I don&#8217;t have to; I choose to. My whole life I have struggled with my identity and wearing Hijab gives that to me. Covering gives me freedom to choose who gets to see me. It is my protection; it protects me from people with closed minds and closed hearts. I believe most importantly, my Hijab allows me to be a walking representation of Islam.
